Submission Guidelines
We prefer electronic inquiries. Manuscript authors or editors should e-mail a detailed proposal that includes both a description of the project and chapter summaries, a brief curriculum vitae, and a sample chapter to Prof. Kate Crassons at inlup@lehigh.edu.
We do not consider unrevised dissertations. We typically do not publish manuscripts when 50% of the content has already appeared in print. Also typically, we do not consider manuscripts that are under consideration by other presses.
If we wish to pursue your project, we will ask that you send us an electronic copy and a hard copy of the complete manuscript, as well as a Manuscript Information Sheet to:
Lehigh University Press
B040 Christmas-Saucon Hall
14 East Packer Avenue
Bethlehem, PA 18015
We then send the manuscript to one or more external reviewers, experts in their fields who will assess your manuscript and make recommendations in writing to the Director and Editorial Board.
Manuscripts that the Press accepts for publication must, at the time of final submission, be fully revised; submitted electronically and in hardcopy; use endnotes rather than footnotes; and conform to the University of Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, including its sections that deal with notes, bibliographies, and indexes. Final submissions must also conform to the guidelines laid out in the Rowman & Littlefield's Manuscript Preparation Guide and Permissions Guide. Permission letters for all quotations used in the book as well as all artwork and illustrations and the originals of the permission letters for their use must be submitted with the final copy.
